ADD SBI ATM/DEBIT CARD TO PAYPAL

IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING INDIAN PAYPAL USERS:
Paypal has been making drastic changes to its policies after tightening of regulatory directives by the RBI (Reserve Bank of India). So, please make sure you do the following as soon as possible:

1.Seriously start looking for other money transfer alternatives.
A very reliable one is:
2.Pay for all domains and web hosting for as long as possible

3.Get credit cards if you don't have any currently

4.Start looking for debit cards that allow electronic transfers.

------------------------------------------------------
I've been trying to find out a way to add funds/transfer money to my Paypal account from India for the past one year, but sadly there is no way one can use an SBI (STATE BANK OF INDIA) debit/atm card (I've tried it with SBI-Mastercard using Mastercard Securecode on a Maestro atm/debit card as well as SBI-Visa Yuva International debit/atm card. ) to add funds to Paypal. In fact there are only the following ways you can transfer money to your Paypal account from India:

  1. Add a credit card from any bank to Paypal account and transfer money using it.
  2. Get a debit/atm card from a foreign bank, maybe Citibank or any other, but it should NOT have "For Electronic Use Only" written on it.
  3. Work for clients on the internet as a freelancer to get some dollars into your Paypal account.
  4. Ask someone who has a credit card, a US bank account or a foreign bank atm/debit card to transfer the money into your Paypal account and pay them in cash or bank account to bank account money transfer.

For Paypal users in India who don't have a credit card, the process of adding funds to their Paypal account is somewhat complicated. Especially so in case of SBI (STATE BANK OF INDIA) ATM/Debit card holders. Paypal doesn't allow you to add/transfer funds to your account from a non-US bank account. Thus you have two choices left :

1.Get a credit card, or add it to Paypal if you already have one.

2.Don't transfer the funds to your own Paypal account at all!
Just register your debit card for Verified by Visa or Mastercard Securecode (depending on which ATM/Debit card you have). Then using this card transfer the funds through Paypal to the third party.
To do this just go to the website, through the button or link go to the Paypal checkout page, and nter your card details. Since the card details are not shown to the actual vendor, your personal details are still protected.

The second method thus allows you to use your SBI ATM/Debit card for online transactions through Paypal. However, you are not allowed to actually add an SBI ATM/Debit card to your Paypal account. I've tried this for both Mastercard and Visa ATM/Debit cards, even for International cards.
